Tim Tebow breakup

Tim Tebow, Camilla Belle Break Up: Report

Tim Tebow has had better weeks.

One day after Jets coach Rex Ryan announced that he was bypassing Tebow and replacing Mark Sanchez with Greg McElroy, US Weekly reported that he had broken up with actress Camilla Belle after two months of dating. A source told US Weekly that the relationship "just didn't work out."

Reports of Tebow and Belle's relationship began back in October when the two were said to have been "overly affectionate" at an event in Jacksonville, Fla.

When the displaced Sanchez and Eva Longoria broke up in the middle of the season, TMZ reported that the two called it quits because Sanchez was always in a bad mood due to the Jets' struggles.

Perhaps that may have been the case with Tebow and Belle.

The Jets were eliminated from the playoff chase on Monday night after another loss riddled with embarrassing moments. The next day, coach Rex Ryan revealed that Sanchez won't be starting in Week 16. But he didn't choose Tebow to start, despite being the back-up quarterback for most of the season. Instead, Ryan named McElroy as the starter against the San Diego Chargers.

Adam Lanza haircut

The Sandy Hook gunman worshiped the devil and had an online page dedicated to Satan, a former classmate revealed, as his childhood barber recalls Adam Lanza never spoke and would stare at the floor every time he had his hair cut.

Lanza's worshiping page had the word 'Devil' written in red, Gothic-style letters against a black background, Trevor L. Todd told The National Enquirer, something which he said was 'weird' and 'gave him the chills'.

The FBI are trying to piece together his smashed up hard drive to see if his online footprint will reveal any motive for the killing, but they strongly believe he made use of devil-worshiping and suicide sites and boasted of his murder plans on message forums.

Adam Lanza's childhood barber Bob Skuba revealed today that Nancy Lanza stopped bringing her son in for haircuts a few years ago so he thought he had moved away from the area.

He told CNN that Adam would never speak or even look at him any time he came in for a cut, which was every six weeks for years.

'It’s just weird that I actually touched him. I'd tried to joke with him,' Skuba said. 'He wouldn’t even look at me. He would just be looking down at the tiles the whole time.

'I wish I would have killed him then. Or he should have killed himself a long time ago. He would have saved us all the trouble.

'I should have slit and stabbed him by accident. It would have been a lot better for those people.'
Cutting Adam Lanza’s hair 'was a very long half an hour. It was a very uncomfortable situation', stylist Diane Harty said.

She said that she never heard his voice even once and that Nancy, a divorcee, also hardly spoke - only to tell Adam what to do as he would not listen to anyone else.

t also emerged today that the chief medical examiner in the massacre is enlisting the help of a geneticist to see if they can find a biological motive behind why the 'troubled genius' shot dead 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday.
Dr H. Wayne Carver says he wants to know if there is any identifiable disease associated with the behavior of the shooter, especially as Asperger's syndrome - which Adam is thought to have suffered from - is not associated with violent behavior.

'I’m exploring with the department of genetics what might be possible, if anything is possible,' Dr Carver said. 'Is there any identifiable disease associated with this behavior?'
He is also awaiting toxicology results.

Lanza's mental state is vital as to why he may have committed one of the worst mass shootings in American history.
Mary Ellen O’Toole, a retired FBI profiler and behavioral scientist, said seeking an answer in Adam Lanza’s biology is worthwhile.

'I think it’s great to consider if there’s something here that would help people understand this behavior,' she said.

'There will be other important clues contained in the reports detectives prepare about the crime scene and their interviews with witnesses.

'Some of that information may help behavioral scientists answer the key question: Why?'
One thing is apparent from the evidence made public so far, she said. The assault on Sandy Hook Elementary was not an impulsive act,' she said. 'This was well thought out.'

The planning could have gone on for days, weeks or months, she said.

Another working theory is that he was angry that his mother was planning to commit him to a psychiatric facility because he was becoming too difficult for her to handle alone.

Given his decision to kill his mother Nancy while she lay sleeping in her bed at their Connecticut home and then drive to his former elementary school to purposefully kill innocent children, there had to be a strong connection in his mind between his anger and the school.

Nancy, 52, was thought to volunteer at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and so the theory extends to the fact that Adam felt he loved those children more than she loved him, since she was planning to send him away.

A friend told the New York Post that Nancy was overwhelmed.

'It was really hard for her as a single mother. It’s hard enough raising an autistic child, just me and my wife. I couldn’t imagine doing it alone,' said Rich Collins, 54, a Lanza family friend who has an autistic son, Jeffrey, 17.

'I think it’s important to get the part of the story out — that an unmarried woman was trying to raise an autistic child on her own. I think she needed more support.'

Fox News quotes a neighborhood figure, whose father works as the pastor of an area church, as saying that the 20-year-old shooter found out that his mother was in the legal process of having him committed and was upset.

That news, coupled with his jealousy of the time she allegedly spent with a group of kindergarteners at Sandy Hook, is thought to have served as the basis of the killing.

A number of factors are still unconfirmed in the theory, and it appears that they may remain as such for some time.

Records of conservatorship filings, which Nancy Lanza would have needed to make in order to commit her son since he is over 18-years-old, are sealed by the courts so if any such filings were made they will not be released publicly.

'Adam Lanza believed she cared more for the children than she did for him, and the reason he probably thought this (was the fact that) she was petitioning for conservatorship and wanted to have him committed,' Joshua Flashman told Fox News.

One of the biggest questions remaining ever since the shooting was reported on Friday was Nancy's connection to the school which was clearly singled out as a target by Adam.

The majority of his shooting was limited to the reception, where he forced his way into the building and killed those standing in his way, and then to a single first grade classroom.

Those children are thought to be the ones that Nancy grew close with during the last academic year, when they were in kindergarten.

Initial reports immediately after the shooting claimed that Nancy was a full time or even substitute teacher at the elementary school, though as the chaos of the day slowed, school officials said that she was not on any records of having worked there in any formal capacity.

That option leaves the possibility open that she volunteered her time with the young children, though school board member Cody McCubbin could not confirm that role when asked by MailOnline.
That was echoed by Lillian Bittman, a former school board member who told the Wall Street Journal: ‘No one has heard of her. Teachers don’t know her.’

Though the court records will never back up the claim that Nancy was trying to have her son committed, her actions do lend credence to the idea because she had spent much time over the course of this year traveling to different schools to find a suitable place to send Adam.

Former babysitters of Adam's said that she warned that she could never turn her back on the young boy, meaning that when she went to visit prospective schools, Adam was either with her or very aware of the fact that she had gone shopping for his next home.

In a Facebook conversation between Nancy and her former sister-in-law Marsha, Nancy revealed that she had wanted to downsize from her $1.4million home in Newtown.

'I am still in the same place but getting to the point where I may want a smaller house. I travel a lot, spend time with friends, work with a couple of charities,' she wrote in one of the messages.

Google Dead Sea Scrolls

Google launches Dead Sea Scrolls online library

More than six decades since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls — and thousands of years after they were written — Israel on Tuesday put 5,000 images of the ancient biblical artifacts online in a partnership with Google.

Google Dead Sea Scrolls
Google Dead Sea Scrolls

The digital library contains the Book of Deuteronomy, which includes the second listing of the Ten Commandments, and a portion of the first chapter of the Book of Genesis, dated to the first century B.C.
Israeli officials said this is part of an attempt by the custodians of the celebrated manuscripts — often criticized for allowing them to be monopolized by small circles of scholars — to make them broadly available.

"Only five conservators worldwide are authorized to handle the Dead Sea Scrolls," said Shuka Dorfman, director of the Israel Antiquities Authority. "Now, everyone can touch the scroll on screen around the globe."
Last year, Google partnered with the Israel Museum to put five scrolls online.

The scrolls, considered one of the most significant archaeological finds of the 20th century, are thought to have been written or collected by an ascetic Jewish sect that fled Jerusalem to the desert 2,000 years ago and settled at Qumran, near the shore of the Dead Sea. The hundreds of manuscripts found in caves near the site have shed light on the development of the Hebrew Bible and the origins of Christianity.

Google says the new digital library took two years to assemble, using technology first developed by NASA. The multimedia website allows users to zoom in on various fragments, with translations and Google maps alongside.

Google hopes to further expand its project. Two months ago Google launched a "Cultural Institute," a digital visual archive of historical events in cooperation with 17 museums and institutes around the world.

"We're working to bring important cultural and historical materials online and help preserve them for future generations," said Yossi Matias, head of Google's Research and Development Center in Israel. "Our partnership with the Israel Antiquities Authority is another step toward enabling users to enjoy cultural material around the world."

1927 school bombing : 1927 School Bombing Resurfaces In Wake Of Sandy Hook Shooting Aftermath

Last weeks massacre in Newtown, Conn., which claimed the lives of 20 students and six adults, has registered as one of the worst mass shootings in American history.

Forever etched into the minds of men, women and children around the United States, the tragedy took place when a deranged gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary School. The act has sparked mass mourning, outrage and debate worldwide.

But while the tragic event has gone down as one of America’s worst school shootings, the country has unfortunately seen comparable massacres with even higher body counts.

1927 school bombing
1927 school bombing

On May 18, 1927, three bombs went off at the Bath Consolidated School in Bath Township, Mich.. The explosion claimed the lives of 38 elementary school students, two teachers and four other adults. At least 58 other people were injured.

Reports from the incident, now known as the Bath School Disaster, indicate that most of the victims were children in the second to sixth grades (7–14 years of age).

As the investigation into the Bath School Disaster moved forward, it was revealed that the bomber was the school board treasurer Andrew Kehoe.

Kehoe, 55, reportedly spent months placing explosives inside the school as well as rigging his car and his house with explosives and shrapnel.

Once Kehoe blew up his own house, he used a detonator to blow up part of the school. He then blew up the truck, killing himself and several other including a child who survived the first blast.

Investigators later found more than 500 pounds of unexploded dynamite under the school. Kehoe had intended to kill hundreds of people, mostly students, but his wiring was faulty.

When comparing the Bath School disaster and the Sandy Hook shootings, the two are similar in several facets.

Before Kehoe enacted his plan to blow up the school he attacked and killed his wife. Police believe that Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza killed also attacked a loved one, his mother, before he went on his rampage.

Comparisons can also be made in the heroics that took place in both incidents.

Reports from the Bath School disaster indicate that School Superintendent Emory Huyck performed heroically, rescuing children and adults from the disaster scene.

After about 30 minutes, Kehoe reportedly drove up to Huyck and motioned him over to his truck before setting off a blast that killed them both and several others.

According to an eyewitness from the Sandy Hook Shooting, school principal Dawn Hochsprung was in a meeting regarding a student at the time of the shooting. When shots rang out, the witness said the principal ran toward the gunfire in an effort to stop Lanza, but was fatally shot.

The most recent, combined with outrage leftover from the Aurora shootings, which took place earlier this year, has increased the awareness for stricter laws on gun control.

While it has not even been a week since Sandy Hook, several lawmakers have promised to introduce or reintroduce gun control legislation, ranging from a reinstatement of a federal ban on assault weapons to banning the sale of high-capacity magazines.

But as the debate is nothing new among American citizens, there are some who will always remains skeptical as to the effect it will have on violence in our country.

"You can make as many laws as you want it will NOT change people who want to hurt others,” reader Steve Lahey commented on CNN.com.

Unisex Easy-Bake Oven

Unisex Easy-Bake Oven :  Unisex Easy-Bake oven on the way

Hasbro says it will soon reveal a gender-neutral Easy-Bake Oven after meeting with a New Jersey girl who started a campaign calling on the toy maker to make one that appeals to all kids.

McKenna Pope, 13, of Garfield, N.J., got more than 40,000 signatures on her online petition at Change.org and the support of celebrity chefs including Bobby Flay, who backed her call for Hasbro to make a gender-neutral oven and to include boys in the ads.

She was prompted to start the petition after shopping for an Easy-Bake as a Christmas present for her 4-year-old brother, Gavyn Boscio, and finding them only in purple and pink.

Hasbro invited McKenna and her family to its Pawtucket, R.I., headquarters to meet with its Easy-Bake team, and on Monday, they drove to Rhode Island from New Jersey. During the meeting, Hasbro executives showed off a prototype of their newest Easy-Bake: one that's black, silver and blue.

Hasbro has been working on the new color scheme and design for about 18 months, and decided to invite McKenna to see it and offer her thoughts, said John Frascotti, Hasbro's chief marketing officer.

McKenna said the company is doing everything she asked, including putting boys in the ads.

"I think that they really met most or even all of what I wanted them to do, and they really amazed me," she said, adding that Gavyn thought the new design was "awesome."

Frascotti pointed out that the classic toy has had about a dozen different color schemes, from yellow to green to teal to silver, since first being introduced in 1963. The most recent iteration, introduced in 2011, is mostly purple with pink accents.

He said it's sold well since then, and that prompted the company to look for a way to update it and to broaden the consumer base by doing it in different colors.

"It's actually a product that's played with by both boys and girls," he said. "We will continue to offer the existing product too because it's so popular."

Hasbro plans to introduce the new color scheme at the industry's Toy Fair in New York in February. Frascotti said people are likely to see it on store shelves next summer.

As for McKenna's Christmas present for her brother, she said the TV show "Inside Edition" gave the family an Easy-Bake Oven after learning of her campaign. For Christmas, she said, she'll probably buy him some mixes to bake in it.

Nancy Lanza

Nancy Lanza :  Nancy Lanza, Mother Of Newtown Gunman, A Quiet Woman, 'Guns Were Her Hobby'

Nancy Lanza was the one who, if she heard you were short on cash, regularly offered to pick up the tab at My Place.

Two or three nights a week, Lanza – the mother of the gunman in Connecticut's horrific school massacre – came in for carryout salads, but stayed for Chardonnay and good humor. The divorced mother of two – still smooth-skinned and ash blonde at 52 – clearly didn't have to work, but was always glad to share talk of her beloved Red Sox, gardening and a growing enthusiasm for target shooting.

Nancy Lanza

But while Lanza spoke proudly about her sons and brought them in for breakfast when they were younger, friends say she held one card very close: home life, especially its trials and setbacks, was off limits.

Now, the secrets Lanza kept are at the center of the questions that envelop this New England town, grieving over the slaughter unleashed by her 20-year-old son Adam, who investigators say killed his mother Friday with one of her own guns before murdering 26 children and teachers at a nearby school.

"Her family life was her family life. She kept it private, when we were together. That was her own thing," said Louise Tambascio, who runs the warmly lit pizzeria and bar with her own sons, and became a shopping and dining companion of Nancy Lanza's.

Friends had met Lanza's younger son, who stared down at the floor and didn't speak when she brought him in. They knew he'd switched schools more than once and that she'd tried home schooling him. But while she occasionally expressed concern about his future during evenings at the bar, she never complained about anything at all.

"I heard her as a parent. I always said that I wouldn't want to be in her shoes. But I thought, `Wow. She holds it well,'" said Tambascio's son, John.

Despite those challenges, the trappings of Lanza's life in Newtown were comfortable. When she and then-husband Peter Lanza moved to the central Connecticut community in 1998 from southern New Hampshire, they bought a brand new 3,100-square-foot colonial set on more than two acres in the Bennett's Farm neighborhood. Nancy Lanza had previously worked as a stock broker at John Hancock in Boston and her husband was a successful executive.

Douglas son beaten

Douglas son beaten : Michael Douglas' son Cameron reportedly beaten badly in prison

Michael Douglas' son reportedly has been beaten in a Pennsylvania prison, winding up with a broken finger and a broken leg.

Cameron Douglas, 34, suffered the injuries — including a broken femur — after a New York City crime boss put a $100 bounty on his head during the prison flag-football league season because he was a "rat," a prison source told the New York Post.

Although the younger Douglas reportedly dropped out of the league where he was targeted, he nonetheless turned up badly injured. The actor's son blamed his injuries on a handball game, the source said, and a doctor's aide reportedly misdiagnosed the break as a sprain at first.

"You don’t break a femur playing handball," the source told the New York Post, adding later, "He’s still walking around on crutches two months later."

Douglas was hit with a five-year sentence in 2010 after pleading guilty to charges of distributing crystal meth and possessing heroin.

An additional 4½-year term was tacked onto that last December for having drugs smuggled into the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York on his behalf. Though serving time at a federal prison in Loretto, Pa., Douglas was in New York to testify against a former supplier.

The 4½-year sentence was among the harshest handed down for drug possession by a federal prisoner, according to the New York Times, which said that most prisoners found in possession of drugs are not charged but rather face administrative sanctions such as loss of prison privileges.

Officer to be executed

Officer to be executed : Fla. ex-cop set for execution in 1986 killing of 9

A former Florida police officer was scheduled to be executed Tuesday for the murder of nine people in a 1986 rampage over three months.

The execution by lethal injection of 56-year-old Manuel Pardo was set for 6 p.m. at Florida State Prison in Starke. A federal judge denied Pardo's request for a stay Monday.

Officials said most of Pardo's victims were involved with drugs. Pardo contended that he was doing the world a favor by killing them in 1986.

"I am a soldier, I accomplished my mission and I humbly ask you to give me the glory of ending my life and not send me to spend the rest of my days in state prison," Pardo told jurors at his 1988 trial.

Pardo's attorneys are trying to block his execution, arguing in federal appeals that he is mentally ill, something his trial attorney believed more than two decades ago.

Pardo was dubbed the "Death Row Romeo" after he corresponded with dozens of women and persuaded many to send him money.

Regino Musa, the brother of one of Pardo's victims, said it's difficult to grasp that the execution will finally happen. He and his elderly mother plan to attend.

"It's about time. It's been so long, you just want to get it over with," said Musa, whose sister, Sara Musa, was killed by Pardo. "I still have nightmares and I don't have words to describe it. I can't believe that it's happening."

Pardo, a former Boy Scout and Navy veteran, began his law enforcement career in the 1970s with the Florida Highway Patrol, graduating at the top of his class at the academy. But he was fired from that agency in 1979 for falsifying traffic tickets. He was soon hired by the police department in Sweetwater, a small city in Miami-Dade County.

In 1981, Pardo was one of four Sweetwater officers charged with brutality, but the cases were dismissed.

He was fired four years later after he flew to the Bahamas to testify at the trial of a Sweetwater colleague who was accused of drug smuggling. Pardo lied, telling the court they were international undercover agents.

Then over a 92-day period in early 1986, Pardo committed a series of robberies, killing six men and three women. He took photos of the victims and recounted some details in his diary, which was found along with newspaper clippings about the murders. Pardo was linked to the killings after using credit cards stolen from the victims.

Amish Mafia reality show

Amish Mafia reality show : Amish Mafia Reality Show Blasted As ‘Pure Fiction’

Amish Mafia, which is being billed as a reality show, debuts on the Discovery Channel in December. It explores the world of Lebanon Levi and his gang of three men, Jolin, John and Alvin, the Patriot-News noted.

Amish Mafia reality show

The show starts out with a disclaimer that the Amish church denies that the group exists, and the episode then goes into interviews and re-enactments of the gang as they drink, drive cars, and gamble. Experts who understand the Amish community say that the Amish Mafia reality show is nothing like reality at all.

“When I first saw the trailer [for the show], I thought maybe it was a ‘Saturday Night Live’ skit on reality television because it was so far fetched,” said Donald Weaver-Zercher, a professor at Elizabethtown College and expert on the Amish. “My sense is this Amish mafia is about as real as the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in The Office.”

Another expert said after studying the Amish for 20 years, he’s heard nothing about a mafia or anything even resembling it.

But the Amish Mafia reality show may be trying to cash in on a suddenly popular religious group. In April, National Geographic aired a 10-part series called Amish: Out of Order, that showed people who had left the search. TLC aired a similar show in September, Breaking Amish, which followed four Amish and one Mennonite who moved to New York City and experimented with drinking, drugs, and sex.

The Discovery Channel acknowledges that the scenes in the Amish Mafia reality show are re-enactments, ABC News notes, but claims the stories are all true.

''The recent public comments made by Stephen Jackson are absolutely unacceptable, cannot be tolerated and do not reflect the standards held by the San Antonio Spurs,'' Spurs general manager RC Buford said Sunday night in an emailed statement.

The team said Jackson would be fined, but the punishment would ''be imposed in consultation and coordination between the Spurs and the NBA.''

It was unclear if Jackson faced additional punishment from San Antonio in the wake of the NBA fine.

Jackson apologized to Ibaka on Twitter on Sunday, calling his post ''unprofessional and childish.''

Jackson has played for seven different teams in 13 seasons in the NBA. He is perhaps best known for his role in the Pacers-Pistons brawl in 2004, which also involved World Peace - then known as Ron Artest - and resulted in a 30-game suspension for Jackson.

Lohan rent rumors :  Lohan Rent Rumors Persist: Actress Broke, Asking Friends for Help?

Lohan rent rumors
Lindsay Lohan's rent rumors persist, and it's getting harder to distinguish fact from fiction when it comes to the star. Reports state that she is unable to pay her rent, is asking friends for help, and blew a deal with Bravo network to renovate her home.

It's no secret that Lohan has had financial trouble in the past, with the IRS seizing her bank accounts due to a failure to pay back taxes totaling $233,904. Actor Charlie Sheen famously helped her pay part of that back with a donation of $100,000, but Lohan is still not out of the woods.

Lohan broke a contract with Bravo TV's series "Million Dollar Decorators" and now owes $200,000 to the station, according to Daily Mail. Lohan reportedly signed up for the series thinking she would renovate her existing home and actually had the work done, but then refused to allow them to film the reveal.

"Sources close to Lindsay tell us she agreed to film the segment for the show earlier this year – in exchange, the people behind 'MDD' spent $200,000 on expensive furniture and other trappings for her house," a source told TMZ.

"We're told Lindsay was initially cooperative – filming a furniture shopping segment back in March and spending several more days shooting in the home before the renovations," the insider continued.

Bravo's website said that it is trying to put together the episode anyway sans Lohan's reveal in order to get it to air in early 2013. Lohan herself wants nothing more to do with the house, friends say, and is trying to break her lease as quickly as possible.

According to various reports, a very fashionably dressed monkey was found wandering around an Ikea in Toronto. Apparently, the monkey, who was wearing a shearling coat and a diaper, was brought to the store by his owners and left in the car while they went inside. But, as you might have guessed from his coat, this wasn't your regular, run-of-the-mill monkey, content to stay in the car while his owners had all the shopping fun. As the Globe and Mail reports:

Toronto Police Staff Sergeant Ed Dzingala described the animal as a "smart monkey," who was somehow able to escape its crate, open the car door and make its way to the customer pick-up area at Ikea's North York location.

Naturally, news of the escaped monkey made the rounds on Twitter.

The monkey was reportedly free in the store for close to an hour before animal control arrived. Eventually, the monkey's owners noticed he was missing and asked about him. Presumably, they were reunited, although that hasn't been confirmed yet.

And if you were thinking of making the inevitable "Ikea monkey" Twitter parody account, bad news; you've been beaten to it, twice.

Boys, 7 and 11, attempt robbery

Boys, 7 and 11, attempt robbery :  Police: Boys, 7 and 11, attempt robbery with gun

Two boys, ages 7 and 11, are accused of trying to rob a woman with a loaded gun, police said Sunday.

The boys tried to carjack a 22-year-old woman who was in her family's truck waiting for her parents in a church parking lot, Portland police said in a statement.

Ami Garrett, of southeast Portland, told officers that when the boys approached her, the younger boy told the older boy to "show her your piece."

The woman said that when she refused to give them her vehicle, they demanded cash and her phone. She said that as she drove away, she saw the 11-year-old boy pull a gun from his pocket.

The boys were apprehended in the parking lot by officers responding to reports of children with guns. Police said they recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun from the older boy's pockets.

Detectives were investigating how the boys obtained a gun. Because of their age, the boys could not be taken into custody at a juvenile detention center, so they were returned to their families, police said.

The 11-year-old tried to escape his parents' house but was quickly caught by officers and returned to his parents.

Police planned to give the case to the juvenile court.

Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera is feared to have died in a plane crash after wreckage was found with no survivors.

Rivera, who was born in California to Mexican parents, has sold more than 15 million records and has huge numbers of fans on both sides of the border.

The wreckage of the small aircraft in which she is believed to have been travelling hours after a concert was discovered in northern Mexico on Sunday.

Officials said "everything points toward" it being the US-registered Lear Jet 25 that had been carrying Rivera and six other people to Toluca, outside Mexico City, from Monterrey.

The impact was so powerful that the remains of the plane were "almost unrecognisable", although a mangled California driver's licence with Rivera's name and picture was found among the debris.

The plane had gone missing shortly after take-off on Sunday morning.

Also on board were Rivera's publicist, lawyer, make-up artist and the flight crew.

The 43-year-old, who was a judge on TV show The Voice Of Mexico, had come to be one of the biggest stars of the Mexican regional style known as grupero music, which is influenced by the norteno, cumbia and ranchero styles.

She recently won two Billboard Mexican Music Awards - Female Artist of the Year and Banda Album of the Year for Joyas Prestadas: Banda.

She had also been nominated various times for Latin Grammys.

Rivera, a mother-of-five and grandmother-of-two, performed in front of thousands of fans in Monterrey on Saturday night.

She gained fans throughout her career for opening up about her personal troubles and her struggle to provide a good life for her children.

After the concert in Monterrey, she gave a news conference and spoke about her emotional state following her recent divorce from her third husband, former Major League Baseball pitcher Esteban Loaiza.

" I am a woman like any other and ugly things happen to me like any other woman," she said.

"The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up."

Gas prices crash

Gas prices crash :  Gas prices have plummeted 46 cents a gallon over the past two months, according to a survey released Sunday.

"This has been a true price crash," said Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the Lundberg Survey.

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.38, down nearly a dime over the past three weeks, Lundberg said.

Gas prices crash

"This crash began back when refining problems around the country were being fixed, one after the other, at the same time that our seasonal gasoline demand was shrinking," she said.

Crude oil prices have also dropped after having risen steadily.

Prices at the pump should drop even more in the coming days, as refiners cut how much they're charging distributors and retailers, Lundberg said.

The national average is about 8 cents higher than the average a year ago.

The survey tallies prices at thousands of gas stations nationwide.

Long Island, New York, had the highest average in the latest survey, at $3.85. The lowest average was in Memphis, Tennessee, at $3.04.

Here are average prices in some other cities:

• Boston - $3.59
• Baltimore - $3.34
• Atlanta - $3.27
• Baton Rouge, Louisiana• - $3.11
• St. Louis - $3.05
• Salt Lake City - $3.40

British astronomer and broadcaster Patrick Moore died Sunday, according to friends and colleagues. He was 89.

He died at his home in the coastal town of Selsey in southern England, according to a statement released Sunday. No specific cause of death was given, but he had heart problems and been confined to a wheelchair.

Moore was well known for his long-running BBC television show "The Sky at Night," which was credited for popularizing astronomy with generations of Britons. He had presented the show for more than half a century.

The statement said he was briefly hospitalized last week when it was determined no more treatment would help him. Instead, his wish to spend his final days at home were honored.

"Over the past few years, Patrick, an inspiration to generations of astronomers, fought his way back from many serious spells of illness and continued to work and write at a great rate, but this time his body was too weak to overcome the infection which set in a few weeks ago," the statement said.

It was signed by various staff members and friends, including Queen guitarist Brian May. May said Moore was irreplaceable and had stirred millions through his broadcasts.

"Patrick will be mourned by the many to whom he was a caring uncle, and by all who loved the delightful wit and clarity of his writings, or enjoyed his fearlessly eccentric persona in public life," May said.

In its obituary, the Daily Telegraph reported that Moore believed he was the only person to have met the first man to fly, Orville Wright, as well as the first man in space, Russian Yuri Gagarin, and the first man on the moon, the late Neil Armstrong.

Moore, who received a knighthood in 2001, had recently celebrated the 55th anniversary of his program. He only missed one episode, because of an illness caused by food poisoning. He was known for his trademark monocle and his occasional xylophone performances and his frequently professed love of cats.

He wrote dozens of books using a 1908 typewriter he received as a gift when he was 8.

Moore had long expressed an interest in traveling into space, but said he wasn't medically fit to do so — he said he was so large that a special rocket would be needed.

F-16 engines stolen

F-16 engines stolen :  F-16 engines stolen from Israeli air force base

Israel's military police are investigating the theft of F-16 fighter plane engines from an air force base in central Israel, a report said.

Army Radio said Thursday the base commander contacted the military police after discovering the engines missing. There were no details how many engines or engine parts were stolen but the radio report said the estimated worth is millions of dollars.

While it is unclear who is responsible, police say the theft was pulled off with inside help since the security fence surrounding the base was intact, the radio said.

F-16 Engines Stolen from IAF Base

The Air Force has discovered in recent days that several F-16 fighter jet engines were stolen from one of its bases, news website Walla reported Thursday.

Senior IAF sources said that the thieves who stole the engines had to have been assisted by someone within the base. This determination is based, among other things, on the fact that there was no damage to the base's perimeter fence. This leads investigators to believe that the thieves went in and out through the gates. They must have done this with a large vehicle, since the engines weigh over 1.5 tons and are more than 15 feet long.

No suspects have been arrested yet in the theft, which is the first of its kind in the IAF's history and marks a low point in its ability to secure its own bases. The most likely possibility is that the engines were stolen by Arab metal thieves, weapons dealers or terror-related agents.

Military sources have expressed their belief that assistance from Bedouin helped Hamas achieve a relatively high degree of accuracy in its attacks on IDF bases during Operation Pillar of Defense. Two soldiers were killed in such strikes.

In July, Bedouin metal thieves infiltrated the IDF base at Tze'elim in the Negev and stole crates of ammunition, which the IDF insists were empty. The Bedouins entered the base on SUVs.

According to Channel 2, the IDF gave chase but the Bedouins toyed with them, stopping the SUVs once in a while to let the IDF vehicles chasing them get close and then speeding off again. The chase was called off once the Bedouins were outside of the base's perimeter, even though the thieves were in possession of live ammunition.

In May, two bullet-proof military jeeps were stolen from the Ketziot base in southern Israel. The jeeps both carried military equipment.

In January, the theft of 1,500 tank shells from an IDF munitions base in the South was reported. Several people have been charged, and the Military Police launched an investigation against commanders and soldiers suspected of involvement in the huge theft.

The video below is a Channel 2 report from earlier this year, documenting how Bedouin metal thieves on ATVs enter IDF training zones during live fire tank exercises and collect spent shells and other items they find desirable. The army's orders forbid soldiers from firing at the thieves, and so the thieves operate in the open.

The military is hamstrung in dealing with thieves because of neo-Marxist leftist infiltration into the IDF Attorney's Office, which strictly prosecutes soldiers who fire at Arabs.

Brandi Glanville tumor : Brandi Glanville To Undergo Surgery For Breast Tumor

Brandi Glanville will undergo surgery this week after doctors discovered a tumor in her breast.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star broke the news to In Touch magazine on Saturday, with the mother-of-two revealing the growth was benign:

“I am having surgery this week and am relieved it’s going to be over with.”

Brandi Glanville tumor

The tumor was discovered after Glanville complained of feeling unwell for months. Thankfully, tests showed the tumor was not cancerous, and Glanville is now looking forward to getting her treatment over with. She told In Touch:

“It’s a blessing the tumor is non-cancerous. I’m anxious about the recovery but have great friends who will be playing nurse. I’m ready to get it over with and feel better.”

The reality TV star added that her two sons, Mason and Jake, will be helping their mom get back to full health.

News of Brandi Glanville’s surgery comes at the end of a tough few weeks for the TV personality. The 40-year-old star has recently been engaged in a social media battle with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian and his new wife, country singer LeAnn Rimes.

The feud was triggered last week, when Glanville accused Rimes of being a dangerous influence on her children. In a tweet that has since been deleted, Glanville revealed that nine-year-old Mason had accidentally eaten one of “unstable” LeAnn’s laxatives, and had become ill as a result. She also claimed Rimes, who spent most of August in rehab in a bid to overcome emotional issues, suffered from a “severe eating disorder.”

That brought a response from ex-husband Eddie, who made an email he sent to Brandi public. Part of the email read:

“I know your life exists solely for the purpose of living and creating drama. It’s a sad way to live. It’s so obvious that you have to constantly mention my wife so people will care what comes out of your mouth. One day when wine and narcissism are not consuming you, you will see how fortunate the kids are to have LeAnn in their life. She is amazing with them, as the kids will 100 percent attest to.

“You should be so lucky to one day find someone who will love and respect Mason and Jake as she does. Although, I really don’t know how anyone can put up with your constant b******t. No wonder you have lost so many ‘close’ friends. Grow up already and for once, PUT THE KIDS FIRST!”

Glanville has since admitted that she regretted making the feud so public.

Secret files on aliens

Secret files on aliens, UFO sightings a joke or cover up?

Are top secret files on aliens and UFOs kept by Russian heads of state? Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev talked extraterrestrial life and UFO sightings Friday after a televised interview in Moscow. Did the former president, who was succeeded by Vladimir Putin, show off his subtle sense of humor or is there some truth to other-worldly life?

In an AP story via the Clarion Ledger on Dec. 7, it was suggested that what Medvedev said after his interview on Ostankino TV Center, arguably, received the most attention.

View slideshow: UFOs in Russia: A history of sightings
After the interview concluded, the cameras continued to run. At some point, the former president (pictured here) told a journalist that leaders get two folders containing top secret files on aliens that came to Earth and remained. Medvedev cautioned that he could not tell them "how many of them are among us, because it may cause panic."

When he suggested gathering more information from "Men in Black" films, it was all passed as a joke. However, could it be a slip of the tongue or the truth masked by an ill-attempt at comedy?

In 1948, a UFO sighting took place over Kapustin Yar, a rocket and launch research base in Russia. Many call the area "Russia's Roswell" or the Soviet Union's equivalent to Area 51 in the United States.

Reportedly, an cigar-shaped object suddenly appeared over an area near the base. A MIG pilot was flying at the time and reported being blinded by its reflection.

At some point, the order was given to engage the UFO sighting. The pilot fired, striking the object and both craft plummeted toward the ground. The pilot is said to have died after being hit by a "proton beam."

Sources say soldiers collected the debris from the unidentified flying object and carried it underground. Further still, Joseph Stalin, Premier of the Soviet Union at the time, believed the encounter was real. As a result, he is said to have ordered plans for increased UFO research. Could the top secret files on aliens have started here?

In 1892, something strange called the "Pillar of Light" was seen in parts of Russia. It was described as a large beam of light pointing towards the Earth's surface. The unidentified flying object hurled light for 25 minutes.

On June 30, 1908, the controversial Tunguska event took place over Russia. It was believed to be an enormous comet or meteoroid that did an air burst about three to six miles above the surface.

The explosion -- 1,000 times larger than the bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII -- downed over 80 million trees and flattened an area over 4 kilometers in diameter.

Others believed UFOs and alien life were behind the mysterious blast, the largest "impact" event ever recorded to-date.

It's likely that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was joking about secret files on aliens after his interview. However, die-hard believers in the mysteries of UFO sightings are likely not laughing at all.

The luxury car had been reported stolen from Orange County while the owners were out of town. Ponti was pulled over and arrested, along with a passenger.

On Friday, deputies saw the car parked outside the same residence, found Ponti at the home and took him back into custody. The vehicle was seized.

Authorities allege Ponti fraudulently obtained the Bentley from a tow yard where it was taken after the first theft.

Boy, 7, killed at gun store

Boy, 7, killed at gun store :  Police: Boy, 7, shot to death at Pa. gun store

A man's handgun went off while he was holding it as he got into his truck in the parking lot of a western Pennsylvania gun store Saturday, and the shot killed his 7-year-old son, authorities said.

Joseph V. Loughrey, 44, of Sharpsville, was getting into the truck when the 9 mm handgun discharged, wounding Craig Allen Loughrey in the chest, according to state police. The boy died at the scene at Twigs Reloading Den in East Lackawannock Township, 60 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Investigators said Loughrey told them he didn't realize there was a bullet still in the chamber. "This happens all too often where people think the gun was empty," Lt. Eric Hermick told The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Loughrey was trying to sell two guns at the store — one a scope rifle and the other, the handgun, state police said. The owners told Loughrey the store doesn't buy guns so Loughrey and his son returned to the truck with them. Loughrey put the boy in the passenger seat and loaded the rifle into the truck, state police said. He was attempting to get inside and reached to put the handgun in the center storage console when it fired, they said.

Loughrey was questioned by state police, who said he was cooperative and distraught. The shooting is being investigated as an accident, although Loughrey could face charges, including manslaughter and negligence, Hermick told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"I know that little kid was everything to him," Mark McLaughlin of Fredonia, a friend and co-worker of Loughrey's at Superior Well Services in Fredonia, told the Tribune-Review.

Messages left for the coroner's office and at a listing in Loughrey's name were not immediately returned.

Marquez-Pacquiao: KO in 6th

Marquez-Pacquiao: KO in 6th : Marquez-Pacquiao 4: KO in 6th round a perfect punch, Juan Manuel Marquez says

The Marquez-Pacquiao 4 ended up in a KO in 6th round after Juan Manuel Marquez threw a strong straight punch on Manny Pacquiao‘s face on Saturday night, December 8, 2012 (Sunday morning, December 9, Manila time). Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KO) told reporters that he won because he threw the perfect punch.

“We always work on that punch. The change in rhythm was important. We knew he was going to come out aggressive. We had to work on more technique and we were able to capitalize on that. We knew it would be a very difficult fight, but not an impossible fight.” Marquez was quoted as saying.

“I threw a perfect punch. I felt Manny was coming after me for a knockout in the last few rounds. I felt he could knock me down at any time. As soon as I saw my first opening I landed a hard right hand. After I knocked him down the first time I thought I could knock him out.” Marquez added.

As shown at HBO Pay-Per-View (PPV) this Saturday night, Marquez knockdown Pacquiao in Round 3 via a strong right punch to his temple, but the 33-year old Filipino champion was able to get up at once. Pacquiao made a comeback in Round 4, and even knocks down Marquez in Round 5 with a solid left punch.

However, Marquez released a hard straight punch to Pacquiao‘s face at 2:59 minutes in Round 6 and the fight ended, with a KO win by the 39-year old Mexican boxer, as declared by ring announcer Michael Buffer. Jinky Pacquiao, Manny‘s wife, was seen crying for his husband and being calmed by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum.

obama grandmother

obama grandmother : Did Obama's grandmother say he was born in Kenya?

obama grandmother
Although no other evidence has surfaced placing Barack Obama’s mother in Kenya at the time of the president’s birth, a taped telephone conversation in which his Kenyan step-grandmother purportedly claims he was born in the coastal city of Mombasa has become an Internet hit since its submission as evidence in a lawsuit challenging the president’s eligibility.

Philip J. Berg, a former Pennsylvania deputy attorney general, included a transcript of the tape and sworn affidavits in a filing with the U.S. Supreme Court after lower courts dismissed as frivolous his Aug. 21, 2008, complaint alleging Obama was born in Mombasa.

The Oct. 16, 2008, telephone interview was conducted by American Christian minister Ron McRae, who describes himself in his affidavit as an overseer of the Anabaptist Churches in North America and a “Presiding Elder on the African Presbytery.”

McRae, who called from Detroit, says Sarah Obama was in a public setting with several hundred people listening to the telephone call on a speakerphone. The interpreter was Vitalis Akech Ogombe, the community chairman of Sarah Obama’s village of Nyang’oma Kogelo in Western Kenya, 30 miles west of the Lake Victoria-city of Kisumu.

“In the ensuing public conversation, I asked Ms. Obama specifically, ‘Were you present when your grandson was born in Kenya?’” McRae testified in his sworn statement. “This was asked to her in translation twice, and both times she replied, “Yes! Yes she was! She was present when Obama was born.”

Critics point out many reasons to be skeptical of the claim, including the possibility something was lost in the translation between an American minister who presupposed Obama was born in Kenya and an elderly African woman who reportedly knows no English. Amid cross-talk in a combination of English, Swahili and the local Luo tribal dialect, could she have understood McRae simply to be asking where she was when Barack Obama Jr. was born?

Moreover, the critics argue, her interpreter immediately clarified that her famous grandson was born in Hawaii, not Kenya.

Many versions of the tape posted by bloggers who contend it is evidence Obama was born in Kenya are cut off immediately after the point where the grandmother apparently affirms her presence at the birth. The truncated versions leave out the section in which the interpreter insists she actually meant the birth took place in the U.S.

In addition, a March 27, 2007, story by Tim Jones of the Tribune News Service recounts how Sarah Obama received a letter from Barack Obama Sr. telling of his plan to marry Stanley Ann Dunham. Sarah Hussein’s husband, Hussein Onyango Obama, was said to be angered by the news. Six months later, Jones reported, the Kenyan family received a letter announcing the Aug. 4, 1961, birth. The Tribune reporter noted an interview with Sarah Obama in which she said she was “so happy to have a grandchild in the U.S.”

Aside from the inference that the grandmother first learned of the birth through a letter, the Kenyan patriarch’s anger over the marriage makes it even more unlikely Ann Dunham would have traveled to Kenya during her pregnancy.

Nevertheless, two members of Sarah Hussein Obama’s Luo tribe who are fluent in the local Luo dialect, Swahlili and English told WND that after carefully listening to the tape they believe she declared Barack Obama Jr. was born in Mombasa, Kenya, and that she was present at the birth.

Tale of the tape

Sarah Hussein Obama, who is not a blood relative of the president, is the third wife of Obama’s paternal grandfather. According to New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, who visited her village during the presidential campaign, the grandmother is illiterate and doesn’t know when she was born. Several news reports say she was born in 1922.

The controversy over the tape centers on the interpreter, who at the end interjects repeatedly that the grandmother said Obama was born in Hawaii.

One of the WND sources who listened to the tape knows Sarah Obama and has met with her in her home village. The other holds a respected position in the Kenyan government.

The source who knows the grandmother declared: “I have keenly and attentively listened to the tape over and over again, and I can confirm from Sarah’s own confession that Barack Obama was born in Kenya in her presence.”

The source said that while Sarah Obama’ voice is hard to hear on the recording, “she admits of actually having been there at his birth.”

He said that while the people in the room with Sarah Obama “tried as much as they [could] to change the tone of the whole story … to me it seems someone is coaching her from the background and seemingly trying to guide her on what to say.”

The Kenyan government source agreed.

“I have listened to the tape,” he said. “The preacher asked whether Barack Obama was born in Mombasa, and the translator asked the same. When she said Mombasa, it was like a surprise, and those there thought she could not have meant to say Mombasa.”

The source said that at that point “they began insisting Hawaii was where Barack Obama was born.”

Sarah Obama can be heard uttering “Mombasa” in response to McRae’s question about where Obama was born.

At this point a confused discussion erupts in the background in Kogelo.

McRae explained the disruption as follows:

Though, some few younger relatives, including Mr. Ogombe, have obviously been versed to counter such facts with the purported information from the American news media that Obama was born in Hawaii, Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama was very adamant that her grandson, Senator Barack Huseein Obama, was born in Kenya, and that she was present and witnessed his birth in Kenya, not the United States.

When Mr. Ogombe attempted to counter Sarah Obama’s clear responses to the question, verifying the birth of Senator Obama in Kenya, I asked Mr. Ogombe, how she could be present at Barack Obama’s birth if the Senator was born in Hawaii, but Ogombe would not answer the question, instead he repeatedly tried to insert that, “No, No, No. He was born in the United States!

But during the conversation, Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama never changed her reply that she was indeed present when Senator Barack Obama was born in Kenya,” McRae concluded.

A second affidavit was sworn by Kenyan Anabaptist minister Rev. Kweli Shuhubia, a pseudonym chosen to protect his safety.

Shuhubia, a native evangelist and translator for the Anabaptist churches in Kenya, was present in Kogelo during the taped telephone conversation.

Shuhubia’s recollection of the conversation agrees with McRae’s and the interpretation of the interview by WND’s sources in Kenya.

Bishop McRae asked Ms. Obama specifically, “Were you present when your grandson Barack Obama was born in Kenya?” This was asked to here in translation twice, and both times she specifically replied, “Yes.”

It appeared Ms. Obama’s relatives and her grandson, handling the translation, had obviously been versed to counter such facts with the purported information from the American news media that Obama was born in Hawaii. Despite this, Ms. Sarah Hussein Obama was very adamant that her grandson, Senator Barack Hussein Obama, was born in Kenya, and that she was present and witnessed his birth in Kenya, not the United States.

When Ms. Obama’s grandson attempted to counter his grandmother’s clear responses to the question, verifying the birth of Senator Obama in Kenya, Bishop McRae asked her grandson, how she could be present at Barack Obama’s birth if the Senator was born in Hawaii, but the grandson would not answer the question, instead he repeatedly tried to insert that, “No, No, No. He was born in the United States!”

Shuhubia also testified in his affidavit that Sarah Obama “never changed her reply” that she was present in person when Senator Obama was born in Kenya.

He further testified that he traveled to Mombasa, Kenya, where he interviewed personnel at Coast Provincial Hospital

“I then had meetings with the Provincial Civil Registrar,” he swore. “I learned there were records of Ann Dunham giving birth to Barack Hussein Obama, III, in Mombasa, Kenya, on Aug. 4, 1961.

“I spoke directly with an Official, the Principal Registrar, who openly confirmed the birthing records of Senator Barack H. Obama Jr. and his mother were present, however the file on Barack H. Obama Jr.’s birth in Kenya is top secret,” he stated.

Cost of Viagra

Cost of Viagra :  Viagra (Sildenafil) was the first oral medication approved by the Food and Drug administration (FDA) for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Introduced into the market in 1998 Viagra has arguably had the largest social and cultural impact (in terms of sexuality) of any prescription medication since the birth control pill. Viagra is a common cultural reference for anything from a quick sexual thrill to the complicated ways that large companies can manipulate the media and individuals to purchase products they design. Viagra has also had a significant impact on the sex lives of individuals taking the drug (and those who have sex with them) but this impact is less straightforward than marketing materials lead one to believe.

How Viagra Works

Viagra works by relaxing muscles and increasing blood flow to particular areas on the body. Viagra was originally studied for the use in people with high blood pressure and cardiac problems. The studies uncovered an interesting side effect, which was that men who were experiencing erectile dysfunction reported that their erections were returning. Viagra only works with sexual stimulation, so taking a pill will not give a man an erection, but it will increase the likelihood he’ll get an erection once he is sexually stimulated.
How to Take Viagra

Viagra comes in three doses, 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg. The manufacturer recommends the 50mg pill as the dose for most people. While online Viagra is widely available, I strongly recommend talking to a real live doctor, preferably one you know, before taking Viagra. After you take a pill it should work within 30 minutes to 1 hour, and lasts about 4 hours. You should not take more than one pill in a 24-hour period.
How Much Does Viagra Cost?

Viagra you purchase from a pharmacy using a prescription you get from your doctor should cost between $4 to $5 per pill. However you can get online Viagra at a significant discount. The problem is that online pharmacies may not be trustworthy, and it is never recommended that you start taking Viagra without first talking to a doctor.
Viagra Side Effects

The most common side effects of Viagra are:

  • headache
  • facial flushing
  • dizziness
  • upset stomach
  • visual problems (bluish vision, blurred vision, sensitivity to light)

Viagra Hazards

Do not take Viagra if you use nitrate drugs, which are used to treat cardiac problems. If used in combination with Viagra, these types of drugs can cause the blood pressure to drop to unsafe, sometimes even life-threatening levels.
People with cardiac problems, anatomical malformations of the penis such as Peyronie's disease, multiple myeloma (a form of cancer), leukemia, liver problems (especially severe liver disorders), kidney problems men with a predisposition to prolonged erections caused by sickle cell anemia, and people taking certain medications used for HIV or those over 65 should NEVER take the drug unless prescribed by a medical practitioner.

In the event of an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek immediate medical help to avoid long-term injury.

There have been a few cases of men reporting sudden vision loss or hearing loss. If either of these occur you should stop taking Viagra and see your doctor.
